The Importance of Confidence in your Business

When I first started off as a life coach, I was excited about my new career, but I was also scared.  I was afraid that no one would hire me.  Fearful that no one would believe that I had anything to offer, or that what I had to offer had any value!

If you’re struggling with confidence in your business, your potential clients will sense it!  In order to have a thriving business your clients need to have confidence in your ability to do what they’re hiring you to do.  If you don’t have confidence in yourself and your abilities, how do you expect them to believe that you should get their business?

How do we develop or regain confidence in our abilities when it comes to our business?  The first step is remembering why you started your business in the first place.  You had a calling, a desire to put yourself out there and do something that you love to do.  Maybe you were encouraged by friends or family who recognized your talents to start a business and share your gifts with more people.  Whatever it was that got you excited about your business is what you need to remind yourself of when you start to doubt yourself.  There was a reason you believed that you could make this work, don’t let the challenges and obstacles allow you to lose sight of that!

One of the elements of a business plan is identifying your competitive advantage.  What makes your product or service offering different from all of the others out there?  Once you’re clear on what it is about your business that makes you special, your confidence will take a massive leap!  You’ll know that you have something to offer in a way that no one else does.  When you believe in yourself, your abilities and that you have something special to offer , you’ll be amazed at the opportunities that present themselves to help you grow your business and take it to the next level!
